Asplenium antiquum 'Osaka' 12/tray
4ASPOBP60
Origin
The Soleirolia soleirolii, also known as the baby's tears, is indigenous to the Mediterranean region. The plant predominantly grows wild in the Balearic Islands, an archipelago off the east coast of Spain. In addition, the plant can also be found in certain parts of Italy.
Characteristics
The Soleirolia soleirolii is a creeping, evergreen perennial. The plant is known for its compact growth, with fine, delicate leaves and thin stems. During summer, the baby's tears produce minute, inconspicuous flowers. The plant reaches a maximum height of 10 cm.
Care
The Soleirolia soleirolii requires a mild to cooler surrounding and ideally should not be exposed to temperatures above 24 degrees Celsius. The plant has a preference for indirect sunlight, but can also grow in shady spots indoors. Regular watering is essential, however, avoid water saturation as this can lead to root rot. The plant doesn't have specific nutrient requirements, but periodic fertilisation during the growing season is recommended.
