Origin
The Acer pal. 'Fire Glow' (240-300), better known as the Japanese Maple, has its roots in East Asia. It is a popular ornamental tree in Japan and Korea and was later introduced to the western world for its beauty and robustness.

Characteristics
The Acer pal. 'Fire Glow' is an upright, medium-sized deciduous tree that can grow up to 300 cm tall. The leaves are beautifully crimson throughout the growing season, reinforcing the name 'Fire Glow'. The leaves can grow up to 12 cm wide and have five to seven sharply serrated lobes. In the autumn, the colour changes to an even more intense red, making it a striking addition to any landscape.

Care
The Acer pal. 'Fire Glow' prefers a sunny to semi-shady location. It is resistant to many types of soil conditions but will grow best in a moist, well-drained soil. Although it is tolerant of drier conditions, it should not be exposed to prolonged drought. Since this tree grows slowly, it requires less pruning than fast-growing species, but dead and damaged branches should be regularly removed for the overall health and appearance of the tree.
