Euphorbia dendroides
Stem
4EUDEKK40
Origin
The Aloe plicatilis, also recognised as the Fan Aloe, originally comes from South Africa. The plant primarily grows on sandy mountain slopes here. The plant falls under the Aloe genus, which includes more than 500 different species.
Characteristics
What makes the Aloe plicatilis unique are the fan-shaped leaf forms. The leaves are a blue-grey colour and can reach a length of about thirty centimeters. The Aloe plicatilis blooms in the winter and early spring, with orange-red flowers that develop on long, vertical stems.
Care
The Aloe plicatilis does well in full sun and requires well-draining soil to shine. Although the plant is drought tolerant, it performs best with regular watering, but beware of overwatering. In colder climates, the plant is best kept as a pot plant, as it is not hardy and cannot tolerate frost.
