DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
Crassula ovata 'Horntree', also known as the Jade Plant, originates from South Africa. It belongs to the Crassulaceae family, which includes over 200 different species. The plant has evolved in desert conditions, experiencing a long drought period, followed by short, heavy rainfall.

Characteristics
The Crassula ovata 'Horntree' is a succulent, meaning that it stores water in its juicy leaves and trunk. It has a woody trunk with thick-fleshed, oval and glossy green leaves. The plant can grow to a height between 60 cm and up to 3 meters if conditions are favourable. In the winter, the 'Horntree' produces white or light pink flowers.

Care
The Crassula ovata 'Horntree' requires a lot of light, but cannot withstand direct sunlight. Ideally, it should be placed near a north-facing window. The plant doesn't need much water; watering once every two weeks is usually sufficient. When temperatures drop below 5°C, the plant should be kept indoors. What's more, the plant cannot handle too much water; it's better to under-water than over-water. A well-draining soil type is recommended, to prevent the roots from sitting in water.
