The Fargesia jiuzhaigou, also known as red bamboo, originates from the Jiuzhaigou region in the Chinese province of Sichuan. These high altitudes and cold winters characterise the natural habitat of the plant and have contributed to the adaptability of this bamboo.

Characteristics
The Fargesia jiuzhaigou is a bamboo species known for its narrow and closely growing stems, which can reach a height of up to 3 meters. The stems start green and over time, transform to red, hence the nickname 'red bamboo'. The leaves of the plant are narrow and drooping, contributing to the graceful appearance of the Fargesia jiuzhaigou.
