Origin
The Washingtonia robusta, also known as the Mexican Fan Palm, is characterised by its origin from Northern Mexico. This tropical area provides the ideal climatic conditions necessary for the growth and development of this plant. The plant is named after George Washington, the first president of the United States.

Characteristics
The Washingtonia robusta stands out due to its impressive height, ranging between 275 and 325 centimetres. The trunk is straight, slender and crowned with a dense crown of fan-shaped leaves, which have a deep green colour. The leaves can be up to 1 metre long. In the summer, the Washingtonia robusta blooms with white, very small flowers that hang in large clusters on the plant.

Care
For caring for the Washingtonia robusta, it is important that the plant is placed in a light position. This palm requires a lot of water, especially during the growth period in the summer. The plant cannot tolerate temperatures below -6°C and should therefore be protected from frost in winter. When planting, it should be taken into account that this palm species has a deep root system and therefore needs sufficient space to grow.
