Origin
The Yucca linearifolia, also known as the Narrow Leaf Yucca, has its origin in the dry and rocky areas of Mexico. Here, the plant is mainly found in limestone and volcanic areas in the states of Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi and Tamaulipas, where it grows at altitudes of 800 to 2,300 metres.

Characteristics
The Yucca linearifolia is recognisable by its long, slender and sharp leaves that grow in a rosette pattern. The leaves can reach a length of up to 1.5 metres. Its trunk can reach a height of 5 metres, giving the plant the appearance of a type of tree. In spring, the plant produces a long stem which ends in beautiful white, hanging flowers.

Care
In the care of the Yucca linearifolia, drought is key; the plant is xerophytic and can therefore withstand dry conditions. Regular watering is not necessary; once every two weeks is sufficient. When watering, ensure that the soil drains well to prevent root rot. The plant thrives best in a full, sunny position and is hardy, but protection from frost is desirable.
