Origin
The Begonia Joy White is a member of the Begoniaceae family and originates from the humid, subtropical and tropical regions of South America. This plant is specifically indigenous to Brazil. The scientific name of the plant is Begonia semperflorens, but the plant is also commonly referred to as Begonia Joy White.

Characteristics
The Begonia Joy White is a compact, perennial plant known for its striking white flowers and dark green leaves. The uniquely shaped leaves and the white flowers create an attractive contrast. The flowers appear from early summer until the first frost. It is a compact species that can reach a height of about 30 cm.

Care
The Begonia Joy White prefers a spot in partial shade but can also withstand full sun, as long as the soil is kept sufficiently moist. The plant needs regular watering and flourishes abundantly in moist, rich soils. Although the plant is quite drought-tolerant, it is important to prevent the soil from completely drying out. During the growing season, it is recommended to fertilise the plant once a month.
