Origin
The Adenium Obesum Bonsai, also known as the Desert Rose, has its origin in the arid, desert-like areas of East Africa and the Middle East. It is primarily found in countries such as Yemen and Sudan. It's a fascinating plant that has adapted to the extreme conditions in these regions.
Characteristics
The Adenium Obesum Bonsai is a succulent known for its striking succulent trunk and beautiful flowers. The trunk can accumulate water to withstand the dry periods, giving the plant a unique swollen appearance. The flowers are trumpet-shaped and vary in colour from white to deep red, often with contrasting colours at the edges. Moreover, the plants can reach heights of 1 to 3 meters.
Care
This Bonsai requires minimal care and is therefore ideal for beginner gardeners. Although the plant is quite drought-resistant, it still requires regular watering. Full sunlight and warm temperatures are most suitable. Repotting should be done in the spring or summer, with well-draining soil delivering the best results. Lastly, the plant is best kept indoors in winter to protect it from frost.
