Origin
The Chlorophytum Ocean, also known as the Ocean Spider Plant, originates from South Africa. It is a popular type of houseplant that is part of the Asparagaceae family. This plant is used to a tropical climate, hence why it thrives in warmer areas around the world.

Characteristics
The Chlorophytum Ocean has shiny, striped, green leaves that are curved and hang down. This plant is characterised by the production of stems with small white flowers, from which young plants emerge. The plant can grow up to sixty centimetres high and is known for its air purifying qualities. Additionally, this plant is a rapid grower.

Care
The care of the Chlorophytum Ocean requires a location with plenty of light, but without direct sunlight. In addition, the plant prefers a constant temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. It is important to water the plant regularly, but only again when the soil is almost dry. Although the plant can handle a considerable amount of moisture, it is important to prevent the roots from standing in water to avoid root rot. It is generally advised to fertilise the plant once every two weeks during the growing season.
