Origin
The Anthurium clarinervium is a tropical plant, originally native to Southern Mexico. It grows wild in the moist, shady areas of the tropical rainforests. The plant belongs to the Araceae family, which is known for its diverse range of plant species.
Characteristics
This plant stands out with its heart-shaped, dark green leaves featuring prominent silver veins. Each leaf is thick and leathery, growing to about 10 to 15 centimetres in length. A unique characteristic is the way in which new leaves emerge, rolled up in the centre of the plant, unfurling as they grow.
Care
For proper care, the Anthurium clarinervium needs plenty of indirect light, but direct sunlight should be avoided. It prefers high humidity and temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. The plant requires regular watering, but should not be kept in oversaturated soil, as this can cause root rot. The plant thrives best in a well-draining, nutrient-rich soil.
