Origin
The Begonia Rex Cleopatrae is a plant species originally from tropical and subtropical regions. It's a variety within the extensive Begonia family, which counts over 1,800 species. The plant owes its name to the Latin word 'rex', which means 'king', a reference to the plant's striking leaves.

Characteristics
Begonia Rex Cleopatrae is particularly known for its distinctive leaves. These are heart-shaped and have a beautiful pattern that varies from silver-grey to deep green, with a striking red underside. The plant rarely flowers, but when it does, it produces small, inconspicuous flowers. With a maximum height of 50 centimetres, it's a compact plant, perfect for interior decoration.

Care
The Begonia Rex Cleopatrae requires a light location, but not direct sunlight. The plant thrives best at an average room temperature between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. Regular watering is needed, but beware of overwatering; the soil should dry out somewhat between waterings. The humidity must be high, so misting the leaves is also recommended.
