Origin
The Chrysalidocarpus Lutescens, better known as the Areca Palm, has its origin on the humid, tropical islands of Madagascar. The plant has since spread worldwide, often as a houseplant, due to its attractive tropical appearance and air-purifying properties.
Characteristics
A striking characteristic of the Areca Palms are the feathered, flexible leaves that grow in dense groups, which has given the plant the nickname 'Golden Feather Palm'. Generally, the plant can reach a height of 6 to 12 meters, with leaves up to 2 meters long, but this is rarely the case for indoor use.
Care
The care of the Chrysalidocarpus Lutescens must be performed meticulously to guarantee healthy growth. Watering requires a delicate balance in which the soil must never completely dry out, but also should never become saturated. In addition, the plant has a high light requirement, preferably indirect, and should be placed in a space where the temperature does not drop below 16 degrees Celsius.
