Origin
The Dracaena Bicolor, also known as the Dragon Tree, finds its origin in Africa, South Asia, and Central America. Over the years, this plant has found its way to many other parts of the world. This exotic plant prefers to grow in moderate climates, but can also survive in more tropical areas.
Characteristics
The Dracaena Bicolor owes its name to its two-coloured leaves - green on the outside and yellow on the inside. These elongated leaves can grow to a length of 12-60 centimetres. The plant has a woody trunk and can reach a height of up to 6 meters in its natural environment, but usually remains limited to a height of 2 meters as a potted plant.
Care
The care for the Dracaena Bicolor is relatively simple, making it a popular pot plant. The plant needs indirect sunlight and therefore cannot be placed too close to a window with direct sunlight. In terms of watering, the Dracaena Bicolor needs a low frequency; once a week is usually sufficient. This plant is also resistant to lower humidity, making it an ideal plant for indoor spaces heated with central heating.
