F00001289
Origin
The Aeonium tabuliforme `Variegata` has its origins in the Canary Islands, situated in the Atlantic Ocean. This distinct species of plant thrives well on the volcanic soil of this archipelago. It often grows in rocky locations or cliffs, where it protects itself against dehydration caused by intense sunlight.
Characteristics
The Aeonium tabuliforme `Variegata` is easily recognisable by its broad, round rosettes that cluster around thick stems. The leaf of the plant is unique, almost flat in shape and boasts a cream to light-yellow hue with green markings. The leaves are densely packed and form dish-shaped rosettes reaching up to 45 centimetres in diameter. When in bloom, the plant bears yellow flowers, which typically appear in late winter or early spring.
Care
The care of the Aeonium tabuliforme `Variegata` takes into account its natural conditions. This succulent requires ample sunlight but does need some protection from the harshest midday sun. The plant is drought-tolerant and thus requires only minimal watering, preferring sporadic and deep watering over frequent, shallow watering. Finally, the plant prefers well-draining soil to prevent root rot.
