Origin
The Euphorbia enopla, also known as the Spurge, has its origins in South Africa. This plant belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family, which encompasses over 2000 different species. They primarily grow in semi-arid areas, where they have adapted to dry, harsh conditions.

Characteristics
Euphorbia enopla is a prickly, succulent evergreen shrub that can grow up to 90 cm high. The trunks are covered in sharp, red spines that provide an interesting contrast with the predominantly green plant. The flowers are small and inconspicuous, usually yellowish or green in colour. The plant has an attractive, compact form that contributes to its popularity as an ornamental plant.

Care
In caring for the Euphorbia enopla, it's important to ensure it is planted in well-draining soil as it is sensitive to waterlogging. Ideally, the plant should be exposed to full or partial sun. Whilst it is fairly drought-tolerant, regular watering during the growing season would be beneficial for its growth. Like most succulents, the Euphorbia enopla needs a resting period in the winter where it requires little to no watering.
