DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Schefflera arboricola, also known as the dwarf umbrella, is a plant species originally from Taiwan and Southern China. It is a popular houseplant in many parts of the world due to its adaptability to various environments.

Characteristics
This species is known for its attractive, dark green, shiny leaves that grow in groups of seven on each stem, hence its nickname 'umbrella plant'. The plant has a quick growth cycle and can grow up to one metre in height. The Schefflera arboricola seldom produces flowers when grown indoors, but when it does, they are small and creamy in colour.

Care
Schefflera arboricola needs sufficient light to grow, but will not tolerate direct sunlight well. The plant thrives best at a constant room temperature, ideally between 15 to 20 degrees Celsius. It has a moderate need for water: the soil should partially dry out between watering. Overwatering can lead to root rot. A high humidity contributes to optimal growth, but the plant can also survive in drier conditions.
