DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Acer buergerianum, also known as the Trident maple, originates from East China, Taiwan, and Korea. This species was first scientifically described in the 19th century and has since been exported to many other parts of the world for its ornamental value in horticulture and particularly as a bonsai tree.

Characteristics
The Acer buergerianum is a medium-sized, deciduous tree that typically grows to 15-20 meters high. Its leaves are distinctive, with three sharply pointed lobes, and these change colour through the seasons, from bright green in the spring and summer to vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow in the autumn. Its flowers are inconspicuous but give way to small, sharply pointed fruits.

Care
As a tree native to temperate regions, the Acer buergerianum can thrive in a range of conditions, but it prefers a sunny location with well-draining soil. It is fairly tolerant of drought, but it will perform best with regular watering. Pruning during the late winter or early spring will assist in shaping and maintaining the tree's health.
