Origin
The Spathiphyllum 'Tanni' is a houseplant originally from tropical regions of South American countries such as Colombia and Venezuela. The plant belongs to the Araceae family and is related to other well-known houseplants such as the Anthurium and the Monstera.
Characteristics
The Spathiphyllum 'Tanni' is also known as Peace Lily, although this name is less common. The plant is characterized by its lanceolate leaves with a beautiful, glossy finish which are dark green in colour. The plant produces flowers composed of a striking white bract with a creamy inflorescence on top. This typically happens in spring and summer, but with good care, the plant can bloom all year round.
Care
Some attention is required in the care of the Spathiphyllum 'Tanni'. The plant needs a consistent temperature between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius and thrives best under high humidity. The plant should be placed at locations with indirect sunlight and the soil must always be kept moist, but without waterlogging to prevent root rot. Regular fertilization with a balanced houseplant fertiliser ensures optimal growth and blooming.
