Origin
Originally native to the islands in the Pacific Ocean from East Malaysia to the east of Australia, the Codiaeum variegatum 'Mrs. Iceton' is a spectacular plant species. This plant, also known under the name Croton, mainly grows in open forests and shrubs.
Characteristics
The 'Mrs. Iceton' is a variegated cultivar of the Codiaeum variegatum and is distinguished by its striking colours. The leaves, which grow alternately along the trunk, have different shades of yellow, orange and red, providing a colourful whole. The leaf colour may vary depending on the light intensity. It is a shrub-like, evergreen plant that can grow up to one and a half metres high.
Care
The Codiaeum variegatum 'Mrs. Iceton' requires some care and attention for optimal growth. The plant prefers bright, indirect lighting and likes to be in a humid environment. It is sensitive to drastically colder weather conditions, so keep the temperature constant between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius. Regular watering is recommended, but avoid water saturation to prevent the roots from rotting.
