Origin
The Adiantum tenerum 'Scutum Roseum', also known as the pink maidenhair, originates from the tropical and subtropical regions. This species can also be found on the American continents, in Europe, Asia and Australia. It thrives in damp, shady locations, for example, alongside streams and rivers or within humid forests.
Characteristics
Adiantum tenerum 'Scutum Roseum' bears the name ‘Scutum Roseum’ due to its distinctive pink to red leaf stems. The leaf itself is green and delicate. The leaves are usually compound, consisting of many small leaflets, and have a very fine texture. They hang in graceful hanging clusters on the plant stems.
Care
In caring for the Adiantum tenerum 'Scutum Roseum', it requires constantly moist soil, therefore regular watering is important. It should not completely dry out between waterings. In terms of light, this species prefers indirect, bright light, but can also grow well in partial shade. Harsh, direct sun should however be avoided as this can burn the leaves. This species also thrives in a humid environment, hence regular misting of the leaves is recommended.
