Origin
The Erysimum linifolium 'Bowles Mauve' is a perennial plant that originally hails from the warmer climates of Southern Europe and Central Asia. This plant species belongs to the Brassicaceae family, better known as the cabbage family. 'Bowles Mauve' is named after the well-known British gardener E. A. Bowles.

Characteristics
The Erysimum linifolium 'Bowles Mauve' is known for its long-lasting bloom and its striking purple flowers that are present for most of the year. This perennial plant can reach a height of about 75 centimetres. The leaves are narrow, lanceolate, and grey-green in colour. Also characteristic are the numerous flower clusters that have the shape of a torch.

Care
Erysimum linifolium 'Bowles Mauve' prefers full sun or partial shade, and thrives in well-drained soil with moderate fertility. Although the plant is fairly drought-tolerant, it performs better with regular watering during prolonged dry periods. The plant is best pruned each year after flowering in late spring to encourage compact growth and abundant flowering. Older plants can become woody after several years and benefit from a thorough pruning session.
