Origin
The Carex comans 'Frosted Curls', also known as the Wavy Sedge, originates from New Zealand. This ornamental grass belongs to the Cyperaceae family. Naturally, this plant is found on moist soils, swamps and along streams where the conditions are usually cool and damp.

Characteristics
Characteristic of the Carex comans 'Frosted Curls' are the light green to silver thin, overhanging leaves with curled tips to which this ornamental grass owes its name. The plant can grow to a height of 30 to 50 centimetres. The leaves form a compact clump. This ornamental grass grows wide and low, with flowering spikes that protrude above the foliage but are not always clearly visible.

Care
In terms of care, the Carex comans 'Frosted Curls' thrives best in well-drained soil with a neutral pH. It tolerates both full sun and semi-shade. In winter, the plant can withstand moderate frost, but it is advisable to provide protection in the event of severe frost. Old foliage can be pruned in the spring to promote new growth. The plant does not need to be fertilised regularly, but in the spring, some compost or organic fertiliser can stimulate growth. Try to water the plant regularly, but avoid too much water to prevent root rot.
