This cultivar originated from crosses between several Abelia species, notably Abelia chinensis and Abelia uniflora. The plant’s origin lies in Asia, specifically in China. Characteristics
Abelia grandiflora 'Confetti' is a compact, semi-evergreen shrub that reaches a maximum height of 80 to 100 centimetres. The leaves are variegated, featuring light green, cream, and sometimes pink shades. The shrub blooms from June well into autumn with small, fragrant, whitish-pink flowers. The plant has a dense, bushy growth habit and retains some of its foliage during mild winters.

Care
Abelia grandiflora 'Confetti' grows best in a sunny to semi-shaded position. The plant prefers a well-drained, fertile soil. Pruning can be carried out to maintain its compact form, preferably in spring. Regular watering is important, especially during dry periods.
