Origin
Abelia grandiflora 'Sunshine Daydream' is an ornamental shrub that belongs to the family Caprifoliaceae. The plant resulted from the crossing of various Abelia species. The origin of Abelia grandiflora is in East Asia, particularly China. This cultivar was introduced into cultivation because of its attractive foliage and flower colour.

Characteristics
Abelia grandiflora 'Sunshine Daydream' is a compact, semi-evergreen shrub. The leaves are variegated with cream, yellow and green, giving the plant a striking appearance. From summer to autumn, small, pale pink to white flowers appear. The flowers have a light scent and attract insects. The plant typically reaches a height of 90 to 120 centimetres.

Care
This shrub prefers a position in full sun or partial shade. The soil should be well-draining and fertile.
