4SAFSBP11
Origin
The Sansevieria 'Comet Kichaka' belongs to the Asparagaceae family and is originally from West Africa. The plant has several variants that thrive in the arid climate of this region, but the 'Comet Kichaka' has been specially bred and cultivated to thrive in indoor settings.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria 'Comet Kichaka' is a small, compact plant that is unique for its noticeable green leaves with lighter, almost silver stripes. The leaves are thick and succulent, growing vertically from the ground which gives the plant an eye-catching, almost sculptural shape. The plant very rarely flowers, but when it does, it produces sweetly scented flowers.
Care
In terms of care, the Sansevieria 'Comet Kichaka' requires little. The plant is extremely drought tolerant, and only requires watering occasionally. It is important not to overwater the plant, as this can lead to root rot. The 'Comet Kichaka' does well in low to moderate light levels, but is also capable of growing in brighter light. It is recommended to fertilise the plant once a year with a specific indoor plant fertiliser. The plant does well across a wide range of temperatures, but performs optimally between 15 and 29 degrees Celsius.
