Origin
The Sansevieria Tough Lady, also known as the Snake Plant, is originally from West Africa. It is a common houseplant that belongs to the Asparagaceae family. Its origins in dry, desert-like areas contribute to its solid and weather-resistant characteristics.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria Tough Lady is characterised by its stiff, erect, variegated leaves that have a stripe pattern. It can reach a height between 75 and 85 centimeters. The plant has a strong, compact growth and the leaves are remarkably thick and fleshy, allowing it to store water for longer dry periods.
Care
The Sansevieria Tough Lady requires relatively little care. It can thrive well in both bright and low-light conditions, making it easy to place in different areas of the house. The plant prefers dry soil and therefore needs little water, overwatering can lead to rot. It is recommended to water the plant once every two to three weeks.
