Origin
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Futura Black' has its origin in West Africa. It is native to countries such as Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania. For many years, the plant was used by local populations for various purposes and enjoyed respect as a sacred plant. In the 18th century, the plant was brought to Europe by the Danish botanist Wulfen, from where it found its way to the rest of the world.

Characteristics
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Futura Black' is an evergreen succulent that belongs to the Asparagaceae family. The plant is characterised by its wide, dark green leaves with lighter cross stripes, which grow from a basal rosette. The leaves can grow up to 70 centimetres high. The plant typically flowers in the spring, with fragrant greenish white flowers that hide among the leaves.
