Origin
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Hahnii', more commonly known as the snake plant, finds its origin in West Africa. The plant grows in dry, rocky areas, where it has adapted to survive under severe conditions. It belongs to the Asparagaceae family, the family of asparagus plants.

Characteristics
The 'Hahnii' is a succulent, thus it can store water in its fleshy leaves. These are strong and pointed, with a deep dark green colour, and are characterised by broad light stripes. The plant grows in a rosette shape, which gives a sleek and modern appearance. When it reaches maturity, it can grow up to approximately 20cm tall.

Care
In terms of care, the 'Hahnii' is a low-maintenance plant. It does well in indirect light, but can also survive in shady environments. However, avoid direct sunlight, as this can burn the leaves. The plant needs little water and overwatering can even lead to root rot. It is recommended to let the soil dry out completely between watering.
