Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate'
Tuft 2pp

Origin
The Schefflera amate, also known as the Luseane Dwarf Umbrella, is a plant species that originally hails from the tropical rainforest of Australia and New Guinea. This green member of the Araceae family has found its way into many households around the world, thanks to its versatility and aesthetic appeal.
Characteristics
The fact that the Schefflera amate is a tropical plant can be recognised by its lush, spiky leaves that always remain green. The leaves have a shiny surface and are grouped together at the end of each segment, which gives the plant the unique 'umbrella' look. The plant can reach a height of two meters in a home environment, although it can grow considerably larger in its natural environment.
Care
Like other tropical plants, the Schefflera amate prefers a warm, slightly moist climate and plenty of indirect sunlight. Watering should be moderate, as too much water can lead to root rot. During the winter months, watering should be reduced. The plant grows best in well-draining potting soil, and prefers conditions that resemble its natural rainforest habitat. Air-purifying capacities make this plant not only an attractive, but also a useful addition to any interior.
