Origin
The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate', also known as the Australian umbrella tree, originates from the rainforests of Australia and New Zealand. Since the 20th century, this plant has also been cultivated in other parts of the world, thanks to its decorative and air-purifying qualities.

Characteristics
The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate' is a versatile house plant known for its large, shiny leaves, which can grow up to fifteen centimetres in length. The plant also produces red or pink flowers, which grow in large clusters on vertical stems, giving the plant a striking and exotic appearance. A mature 'Amate' can reach a height of between 170 and 220 centimetres.

Care
The Schefflera actinophylla 'Amate' requires high light intensity, but does not tolerate direct sunlight. Regular watering is important, particularly in the summer, but overwatering should be avoided. The soil should be moist and the humidity high. The optimal temperature for this plant lies between 15 and 23 degrees Celsius. Regular fertilisation is also important for optimal growth and bloom.
