Origin
The Schefflera arboricola 'Compacta', also known as the Dwarf Umbrella Tree, has its roots in Taiwan and Southern China. Here, the plant grows in the shade under the canopy of the forest, where it is protected from direct sunlight.

Characteristics
The Schefflera arboricola 'Compacta' is a popular houseplant characterised by its compact growth habit and glossy green leaves. The leaves of this plant are smaller and denser than those of the standard Schefflera arboricola. The leaf arrangement resembles miniature hands or fingers extending from a stick. The plant can eventually reach between 1 to 1.5 meters in height.

Care
When caring for the Schefflera arboricola 'Compacta' it's important to know the plant requires moderate watering and thrives with indirect sunlight. It is ideal to place the plant in a room with a temperature between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, this plant prefers a high humidity environment and it's therefore beneficial to periodically spray the leaves. However, overwatering and water saturation should be avoided to prevent root rot.
