This plant tends to grow in an umbrella shape, which gives it the very fitting name 'dwarf umbrella plant'.
Care
In terms of care, the Schefflera arboricola 'Compacta' requires a light to semi-shady spot, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius. Humidity is also important for the 'Compacta', hence regular spraying and watering is recommended. However, it is important to avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. As for the soil, the plant prefers a well-draining, humus-rich soil.
