Origin
The Epipremnum pinnatum 'Golden Pothos', also known as the Golden Pothos or Devil's Ivy, originates from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, such as the Solomon Islands. It belongs to the Araceae family, also known as the Arum family.
Characteristics
The Golden Pothos is a robust climbing plant with heart-shaped leaves. The leaves have a distinctive shiny green colour with yellow, gold or cream marks, hence its name 'Golden Pothos'. The plant is capable of climbing and trailing, making it perfect for hanging or placing on a high shelf. Depending on the conditions, the Golden Pothos can grow up to 2 metres high.
Care
The Golden Pothos requires a light to semi-shady location but should not be placed directly in the sun. The plant also needs to be watered regularly, approximately twice a week in the summer and once a week in the winter. Well-drained soil is essential for healthy growth. The plant is also resistant to dry air making it very suitable for indoors. In general, the Epipremnum pinnatum 'Golden Pothos' is a relatively undemanding plant that can be successfully cared for even by beginners.
