Origin
Strelitzia nicolai originates from South Africa. The species is mainly found in forests and along riverbanks in subtropical regions. Its distribution range extends from eastern South Africa to Mozambique. In the wild, the plant grows as a large, sturdy shrub or small tree.

Characteristics
Strelitzia nicolai is an impressive, evergreen plant from the Strelitziaceae family. It is characterised by long, sturdy leaf stems with large, leathery leaves. Under optimal conditions, this species can reach a height of more than five metres. When in bloom, striking flowers appear in shades of white and purple.

Care
Strelitzia nicolai thrives best in a bright location with ample space for root development. The plant does not tolerate persistently wet soil, but does require consistently, lightly moist conditions. A temperature above 13°C is recommended for healthy growth. Regular feeding during the growing season supports leaf development.
