Origin
Strelitzia nicolai is a plant species native to South Africa. This species naturally grows along riverbanks and in coastal forests. Its distribution mainly covers the southeast of the African continent. In the wild, this plant can form large groups.

Characteristics
In its natural environment, Strelitzia nicolai can reach up to ten metres in height. The leaves are elongated, glossy green and resemble those of a banana plant. The flowers are large, white and blue-purple in colour, with a distinctive, bird-like form.
