Origin
The Zamioculcas zamiifolia 'Raven', also known as the ZZ plant, originates from East Africa. This species specifically occurs in countries such as Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. It grows in diverse conditions, ranging from dry desert areas to forested regions.

Characteristics
The 'Raven' is a variant of the Zamioculcas zamiifolia with remarkably dark green to almost black foliage. The plant has succulent stems, along which shiny, emerald green leaves grow that turn black as they mature. The stems can grow up to 60 centimetres high. An interesting characteristic is that the plant has both underground and above-ground tubers that store water.

Care
As for care, the Zamioculcas zamiifolia 'Raven' is known to be quite a low-maintenance plant. This plant thrives in low-light locations, but can also grow in full sun. It is drought-resistant thanks to its ability to store water in the tubers. However, overwatering can lead to rot, so it is recommended to only water the plant when the topsoil feels dry.
