Origin
The Zamioculcas zamiifolia, also known as the ZZ plant, is native to Eastern Africa. It is specifically found in countries such as Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. Here, it grows in warm, dry climates on grasslands and in lowland forests.

Characteristics
The Zamioculcas zamiifolia is characterised by its shiny, dark green leaves that grow on long, upright stems. The plant can grow up to 1.5 metres in the wild, but usually stays smaller indoors. In rare cases, the ZZ plant can also produce small flowers.

Care
The Zamioculcas zamiifolia is an easy plant to care for and is quite robust. The plant requires moderate light and can even bloom in partial shade. Watering is necessary but should be done sparingly, as the plant has a strong water storage system in its leaves and stems. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Regularly cleaning the leaves keeps the plant healthy and shiny.
