Origin
The Kalanchoe marmorata 'Partridge', also known as the 'penwiper plant', originally hails from East Africa. This species is mainly found in countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania, where it widely spreads in the wild. This genus of plant is part of the succulent family Crassulaceae and includes over a hundred different species, with the 'Partridge' being one of the most exceptional.

Characteristics
The Kalanchoe marmorata 'Partridge' is a perennial succulent that possesses a unique beauty due to its distinctive dark green leaves with lighter patches. These leaves are thick and fleshy, with a peculiar marbled pattern that gives the plant its name. The plant can grow up to a height of approximately 45cm. Additionally, the 'Partridge' produces dome-shaped clusters of purple, bell-shaped flowers at the end of a long stem come spring.

Care
The Kalanchoe marmorata 'Partridge' requires minimal care, which is typical of most succulents. The plant prefers well-draining soil and should be placed in a location with bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate a degree of drought, regular watering during the growing season is essential for optimum growth, but over-watering should be avoided. Exposure to too cold temperatures can damage the plant, so it's better to bring the 'Partridge' indoors during cold winters.
