Asplenium antiquum 'Hurricane' 6/tray
4ASHUBP12
Origin
The Scindapsus (Epipremnum) 'Golden Pothos' is a houseplant originally from the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Due to its striking decorative appearance, it has become a popular houseplant worldwide. The plant has since spread to many tropical and subtropical regions of the world.
Characteristics
The 'Golden Pothos' distinguishes itself with its shiny, heart-shaped leaves with noticeable yellow or golden stripes. The plant is a climber, aiding itself with aerial roots. If well cared for, it can easily reach a length of up to 2 meters. Under ideal conditions, the 'Golden Pothos' can even bloom, although this rarely happens under house conditions.
Care
The 'Golden Pothos' needs a bright location, but does not thrive in direct sunlight. A placement partially out of direct sunlight is therefore recommended. The plant requires moderate watering, but is quite flexible with its water requirements. However, it is important that excess water is able to drain well to prevent root rot. Fertilising the plant is also important, with a liquid fertiliser being given once a month during the growing season.
One final point is that the plant has a low tolerance for temperature fluctuations, so a constant climate without temperature drops is preferred.
