Origin
The Anthurium Spirit is a popular houseplant that originally comes from the tropical rainforests of South and Central America. The plant is also commonly known as the flamingo plant due to its striking flowers.
Characteristics
Anthurium Spirit is known for its brightly coloured bracts that are often mistaken for flowers. These are usually bright red, but can also be pink, purple, orange or white. The actual flowers of the plant are small knobs that are located on the spadix in the middle of the bracts. The leaves are dark green, heart-shaped and have a highly glossy texture.
Care
Anthurium Spirit likes a warm, humid environment and indirect sunlight. The plant needs regular watering, but it is important to prevent the roots from standing in water. Feed the plant every two weeks with a high phosphorus fertilizer during the growing season. It is advisable to repot the plant every year to promote growth.
