Origin
The Sansevieria Silver Steel, also known as the Snake Plant, is a plant species native to West Africa, where it grows in dry, rocky environments. This plant family is named after the 18th-century Italian prince Raimondo di Sangro, a renowned scientist from Naples.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria Silver Steel is known for its attractive, upright, sword-shaped leaves. These leaves are silver-green in colour with light grey cross stripes. The design-stand growth habit, combined with the unique colouring, make this plant a striking presence. The plant can grow up to a metre high and produces new shoots at the base.
Care
In terms of care, the Sansevieria Silver Steel is a very easy plant. It has no problems with dry air or low light conditions, although it thrives best in indirect sunlight. The plant should be watered sparingly, with the soil being dry between waterings to prevent root rot. This plant does not have a high need for fertilisers, but can benefit from a light application of houseplant fertiliser during the growing season. In terms of temperature, the Sansevieria Silver Steel prefers a moderate climate, between 15 and 29 degrees Celsius.
