Origin
Arenaria montana, also known as mountain sandwort, originates from Southwest Europe. It is primarily found in mountainous areas and rocky slopes, specifically in the Pyrenees mountains that extend between Spain and France.

Characteristics
Arenaria montana is a perennial, evergreen plant that can grow up to 20 cm high. The characteristics of this species include dark green, lance-shaped leaves and the white, star-shaped flowers that bloom in the spring and early summer. The plant also has a spreading growth habit and often forms dense mats, which are ideal for ground cover.

Care
The care of Arenaria montana requires a sunny to partially shaded location, and well-drained, sandy or rocky soil. The plant is very tolerant of drought, but must be watered regularly during prolonged dry periods.
