Origin
The Bergenia cordifolia, also known as the Heartleaf Bergenia, has its origin in the cold regions of Central Asia, where it grows on rocky terrains and in forested areas. Over time, the plant has spread to various parts of the world and is now extensively cultivated for use in gardens and parks.

Characteristics
Characteristic of the Bergenia cordifolia are the large, heart-shaped, leathery leaves that remain green all year round. In the spring, the plant produces upright stems with hanging clusters of bell-shaped, pink to deep purple flowers. The flowers are small, but thanks to their large number, they are highly noticeable. Care
The Bergenia cordifolia is not fussy about the soil in which it grows, but prefers a moist, well-draining soil.
