Origin
The Phalaenopsis 'Singolo Shima' is a hybrid orchid that resulted from a crossbreeding of multiple Phalaenopsis species. Originally, Phalaenopsis orchids are from tropical areas in Asia, such as the Philippines and Indonesia. The 'Singolo Shima' was developed by orchid growers and is therefore not found in the wild.
Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis 'Singolo Shima' is characterised by its striking striped flower petals and beautiful yellow flowers with pink spots. It has long, fleshy leaves and can reach a height of up to 60 cm. The flowering period of this orchid is very long, sometimes several months, during which it continuously displays a stunning array of flowers.
Care
Taking care of the Phalaenopsis 'Singolo Shima' requires particular attention. It thrives best in a light place, but not in direct sunlight. The ideal temperature ranges between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Water should be given sparingly, only when the potting soil feels dry. In general, it needs high humidity, therefore regular spraying with water is recommended.
