Origin
The Guzmania 'Charming' belongs to the bromeliad family and traces its origin to the Central and South American rainforests. It is named after the Spanish Jesuit pioneer and naturalist Anastasio Guzmán who was the first to discover the plant species.
Characteristics
The Guzmania 'Charming' is characterised by its green leaves that grow in a rosette shape and from the centre of this rosette grows a noticeable flower cup. This flower cup is bright red and commands attention with its brilliant shape and colour. A fully grown Guzmania 'Charming' can reach a height of 40 cm, making it a compact but conspicuous plant to keep.
Care
The Guzmania 'Charming' prefers a bright location without direct sunlight. It is important to keep the soil lightly moist without allowing it to saturate. The plant has little need for fertiliser; a light feeding once a month is sufficient. Misting the leaves contributes to creating an optimal humidity for the plant, with dead leaves needing to be regularly removed to enable good growth.
