The Heuchera 'Indian Summer' Orange, also known as the 'Indian Summer' coral bell, originates from North America. This plant is part of the Saxifragaceae family and after its discovery, it quickly spread across the world thanks to its attractive appearance and robustness.
Characteristics
The 'Indian Summer' has a particular characteristic, namely its stunning orange leaves. These leaves are large and have a heart-shaped appearance with jagged edges. The plant blooms from spring to autumn with long stems studded with small, white flowers. They reach a height of about 25 to 45 cm.
Care
To achieve optimum growing conditions, the Heuchera 'Indian Summer' Orange should be planted in well-drained soil. They prefer partial shade but can also be placed in full sun provided the ground is kept sufficiently moist. The plants are frost-resistant and have an average water requirement. During the growing period, it is recommended to give organic fertiliser monthly to maintain the intense leaf colour and healthy growth.
