Strelitzia Nicolai in Cylinder
Artificial glued with Bark
CC0022649
Emerald's artificial flowers and plants are colourful and very detailed, making them barely distinguishable from the real thing. What makes a big difference with artificial plants is the way you unfold them. By doing this in the right way and styling the plant nicely, it will seem even more lifelike. In the video below, you will find a handy step-by-step plan for unfolding the Emerald Strelitzia. Below the video you will see the steps written out again.
Step 1: Bend the plant’s stems of slightly apart.
Step 2: Grip each leaf at the beginning and end.
Step 3: Bend each leaf into a natural arc. The iron wire inside the leaf makes it easier to mould into the perfect shape. Avoid bending it at a sharp angle.
Step 4: Stud the plant with Oasis.
Step 5: As a finishing touch, we used decorative tree bark. You can, however, use all sorts of different materials for the finishing touch, such as Pearl Stone or Vulkastrat.
Step 6: Admire and enjoy your work.
Our tip: Keep the natural plant growth in mind when unfolding; a plant is not always symmetrical, so your artificial plant does not need to be either.
