Origin
The Maranta leuconeura 'Tricolor', also known as the Maranta tricolor, originates from the tropical regions of Central and South America. In particular, the rainforests of Brazil are considered to be the natural habitat of this plant. The plant belongs to the Marantaceae family.

Characteristics
The Maranta leuconeura 'Tricolor' is characterized by its striking leaves, which are striped in three different colours; green, pink and cream white. The plant can reach a height of 30 to 40 cm. The leaves of the plant close in the evening, a behaviour known as nyctinasty.

Care
The Maranta leuconeura 'Tricolor' requires high humidity and moderate light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves of the plant. A warm environment between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius is optimal for the plant's growth. In addition, the plant needs regular watering, without the soil becoming waterlogged.
