Origin
The Cyphostemma juttae originates from Southern Africa, mainly from Namibia and South Africa. This unique species of plant is part of the Vitaceae family, better known as the grape family. In the wild, this remarkable plant often grows on rocky slopes and in dry, sandy areas. It is also referred to as 'Babadot', but this name is less common.

Characteristics
The Cyphostemma juttae is known for its thick, fleshy trunk which can reach heights of up to 2 meters. The plant is deciduous and has large, bright green leaves that are shaped like a heart. The plant's distinguishing features are its remarkable, often gnarled branches at the top of the plant. When in bloom, the Cyphostemma juttae bears small, yellow-green flowers that evolve into attractive, purple-red berries.

Care
When caring for the Cyphostemma juttae, it's important to give the plant enough but not too much water. The soil may indeed dry out between watering. During the summer period, the plant needs more water than in winter. The Cyphostemma juttae prefers a light to sunny location. Although this plant also overwinters in cooler conditions, it thrives best at a temperature not lower than 10 degrees Celsius.
